Itunes an error occurred while updating the default player

I have tried right clicking on mp3 files and then selecting Open With/Choose Program/i Tunes.
Click on "Tools" then click on "Folder Options" then click on "File Types". Edit: It's NOT worked (Set Program Access and Defaults), just goes back to saying "Use my current media player" even after I tick i Tunes and click okay.
This will open a window that shows registered file types. Once you highlight it you can go down to the bottom of the page where it says "Opens with".
If this does not automatically swithc to Itunes then click on the "Change" button and change it to Itunes.
